A World of Violence (BL14)

How many humans and animals die each year? How many of them die in a violent manner?  Why would God allow all of this to happen? Is this His will?

Violence is everywhere. Humans killing each other or killing animals and animals killing each other or humans. Why would God create such a violent world? Let’s go back to Genesis for the truth concerning creation. In the beginning God created all things and He said that the creation was “very good.” He also said that He created fruit, seeds, and green herbs as meat to eat, for both humans and animals; He did not want man or animals killing anything. Please read:

Genesis 1:29  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Genesis 1:30  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Genesis 1:31  And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.(KJV)
According to these  scriptures, He did not want us to kill anything: even plants or insects. The plants freely gave their fruit, seeds, and leaves, but not their lives. His original plan was for no death, at all. He wanted the lion and lamb to lie down together in safety. Before the first sin, there was no killing, no death, and no fear. God loves life, peace, and harmony, not death.

When Adam and Eve committed the original sin, the earth, and everything in it, started a downward spiral; Everything went from “very good” to “cursed.” The earth became polluted with sin and death. There was violence everywhere. Man suffered, animals suffered, plants suffered, and God suffered. God said that He was sorry He made man.

God willed that man and animals live together in complete harmony with each other and with Him. He wanted children to be able to play with the tigers cubs, and bears, and dinosaurs. He wanted man to be able to walk anywhere on the earth without fear; to enjoy the magnificent creation; and behold its beauty. He wanted the sparrow to be able to sing, and chatter, and not fall. He wanted us to be free from jealousy, hate, and all of the other sins; and to experience pure love for God and each other.

The good news is that we have a Redeemer, who will come for us and restore the world to its original magnificence and there will be freedom from violence and death. Jesus died a violent death to pay the price for sin. The Bible says that one day death will be cast into the lake of fire. He can do it and He is the only one with the power and authority to do it. Let us rejoice.

Isaiah 25:8  He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces . . . .

To do: Tell your children, or a friend, about God’s original plan and how He will restore the earth to its intended glory – soon.
